Is Article Marketing Still Effective Marketing Or Is It Dead?

Posted in Personal Development

One thing still remains true concerning the internet, and it is this, that search engines love content. It always has, it always will. However, one must define what the word content means. Everyone is article marketing these days it seems or has. For, at this very hour, it appears that the web is getting rather cluttered! There is nothing like sifting through trash to find something of value to read. Rather smelly if you ask me.

Writing Good Content

A lesson that many have learned (by the best in the business) concerning article marketing is this; write good, effective, valuable, rich, CONTENT filled articles! Wow, a mouth full, right? Exactly my point. If you are going to spend time writing articles, make it a mouthful of goodness, not sourness! Treat every article you write as a nutritional plate of food that will give sustainable energy to the consumer. Junk food can’t do that. Neither can junk articles.

Let’s answer one question before moving on. Is article marketing dead? ……………………………………………….. No, is my answer and I will tell you why. You can’t kill good content. With the river of spam-like articles trashing up the web, it may make finding that value-filled article a little more difficult, but nevertheless, it is still there to find. One way in which YOUR articles can keep there effectiveness is by being attached to your personal blog, where you can give them vitality and life and put a face to them.

The Basic Principles To Writing Good Content

Here are the basics to writing good articles. One point to make before listing these is make sure you spend time writing. If it takes you more than ten minutes, so be it. It is better to have one quality gourmet article than ten junk food articles. Here we go then:

  • Research Your Topic
  • Spend Time Researching Your Topic
  • Know Your Target Market – Who wants or needs what you got?
  • 500 words max, not less than 300 words.
  • Write Effective Headlines – Insert a researched keyword within it.
  • First paragraph – About the title of your article. Lead as if you were a reporter. Pull people into your article with this first paragraph.
  • Body – 2 or 3 paragraphs giving the meat of the detail of your article.
  • Last paragraph – call to action
  • Resource box – make sure to write a good 2 sentence resource box with links back to your blog or capture page.
  • Keywords – sprinkle them in proper natural manner, about 3-6% of entire article, no more! e.g. dog training. Don’t let the keyword be said every other word. Twice in a single paragraph or once even, is plenty.
  • Check spelling and links

Writing good online articles takes time. It is effective. But nowadays, it is about where and how you use them after they are written which determines success. Getting good SEO juice out of them is only the beginning. Make sure you have a funnel system to bring your reader into. Otherwise, you just wrote a good article that is an island all of its own and will remain as such. You want to make it a tourist stop!

Cheers,
