Network Marketing

The Network marketing is growing by leaps and bounds. Even though I have a primary business opportunity that I am in and am quite happy with, I still get inundated with emails for the next greatest thing. No problem here and God Bless the many good companies that re starting up. I hope they are legit and prosper.  Still though, some don’t get it.

The concept of people to people marketing, word of mouth advertising, that is, is still, the most powerful way to market a product or service. Think about the last time someone came to work with their new Iphone, SHOWING IT OFF, you wanted one, right? They were selling you and me! It works. Network marketing at its best. Which is the point I am wanting to make.

I get tired of people in my face trying to sell me their opportunity. Reminds me of a girl in the Wendy’s drive-thru. We ordered our food, drove up to pay, and she was literally almost in my lap reaching for the money. Woah, lady, woah! Made you feel very uneasy. So many are like this in the network marketing industry. They are in your face with “JOIN ME”, “You need it now”, and “we are the best because”.

I am reminded by a mentor friend of mine about a simple lesson in life – eating cookies! Network marketing is like eating chocolate chip cookies when done right. As a kid, we would not hesitate a bit when offered one. Now, as adults, there is hesitation. We think about it and question whether we should or not. Until, that is…. it begins to be taken away. Then, wammo, we snatch one. Why? We don’t want to miss out.

There are those that will join you in your business opportunity after you qualify them by interview. However, there may be some, that will join, but only after you start taking it away, due to their hesitating. “Okay, fine, you are not sure, and need time to think about it. Perhaps you are right, this does not sound like it is for you.” You will find that some will reach immediately because they realize they are about to miss out.

You are your greatest commodity and asset in this industry. So, become a network marketing leader by how you conduct yourself, that is, your self posture. Continue to educate yourself so you have value to impart. Create a system, or acquire one from your leaders and offer it to your downline. By doing these things you will establish yourself as a leader people will want to join and be a part of.
