There is a lesson in the gospel of Luke that I shared a couple days ago at the church. The word of God is so rich, so profound, so revealing, truly a very present help. It just amazes me. It is about Simon Peter, and some others, but primarily Simon. He and his partners, James and John, had a long, empty, fruitless night on the Sea of Galilee fishing. A crowd gathers, and Jesus is present, and he sees needs everywhere. I am glad when we don’t know what to do someone does!

Launch Out From Your Discouragement
Luke chapter 5 gives us a lot to relate to, figuratively speaking. Spending your time on shore where it is safe is a waste of talent. It is like having the potential to become a Leonardo D’avincci but work at a gas station. If you and I are to ever get to where God can take us we must be willing to try again. Discouragement and fear must be conquered by your willingness to get in the boat with Jesus as Peter the Apostle did. We must be willing to launch out from our comfort zones that say, ” if I don’t try I can’t fail”. Truth is by not trying we have succumbed to failure.

Thanks Joe for your excellent post. This kind of information is exactly what I was looking for (today). There are times when I do feel stuck in life, but I just can’t quit.
Life is so wonderful.
